Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Buffalo with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in New York may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 7 AMβ11 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Lexington Cooperative Market at (716) 886-0024; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, lexington.coop.

Buffalo is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Buffalo peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

β β β β β I love the co-op. It's my go-to grocery store, and I'm there all the time. I especially love grabbing something from the hot bar or one of their pre-made salads when I don't feel like cooking. They also have a great grocery selection, and I can usually find items there that I can't find anywhere else. My only consistent issue has been with the produce. It can be pretty hit or miss. I've come across moldy berries and tomatoes still out on the shelves, and I've even bought bags of grapes that had already started fermenting. It's happened often enough that I now hesitate before buying produce there. That said, I still really enjoy shopping here and just double check expiration dates before purchase.

I love it here. Became a member when they first opened up on Hertel. Moved to Niagara Falls and still find my way back to shop for some of my favorite things.

The Hertel store is our go-to location for bulk foods, and other grocery items. We usually find what we're looking for. The hot bar though, is not good. Not many selections and what they do have is usually all dried out whenever we go.

I am such a fan of the bulk food and spice section and love the experience of the recent sale . I like the labeling and floor layout of the store β it gives you space to decide and has ethically conscious interns with local and small business themed items as suitable alternatives. Also, the produce section is visually appealing and stocked with great produce of near perfect quality! Itβs apparent the staff and management here care about how to run the store with consumer healthy and choice in mind . Totally and enjoyable part of my day!

This is by far one of my favorite places to shop! Tons of local produce and best prices over any grocery store! The bulk section is great for getting those spices and such that you use less frequently. And they have a great section of prepared foods if you get hungry. Grab your food, have a seat, and enjoy. The proximity to everything in North Buffalo is awesome. Great location! And the staff is always super helpful.
